About the advertisement in The European Correspondent
Why do you show me advertisements in the newsletters?
The European Correspondent offers advertisements for organisations as a paid service. It has two objectives:
It's an opportunity for organisations, companies, and individuals to showcase their product or standpoint to a European audience.
It's a revenue source that allows us to make our journalism available to everybody.
Which organisations are eligible for promoted opinions?
The following criteria determine which organisations can make use of this paid service. Our aim is to be transparent and prevent the spread of misinformation and hatred.
In general, every organisation is eligible to buy advertisement slots. However, we exclude companies from the fossil fuel energy sector, tobacco and alcohol producers, arms manufacturers, and official country representations.
Every advertisement message will be scanned for misinformation and hate speech by The European Correspondent.
How The European Correspondent ensures its independence
We ensure independence by diversifying our revenue streams. Additionally, to advertising revenue, we have a revenue stream from donations and grants from our community.
The European Correspondent is not responsible for the content and the promoted view does not reflect our editorial position. Our editorial team has no involvement in the creation of the promoted opinions and reserves the right to refuse any submitted content if the content fails to meet our editorial policy and our criteria for promoted opinion (as outlined above).
You can find further information in our editorial policy and our commercial policy.
